“The castmates are going to absolutely annihilate us,” says Hayden, 35, as he attempts to imagine how his costars will react to being featured in the issue.

“Goodness yeah, for sure,” Kodjoe, 49, agrees. “We’re ready for that. There are a couple of others whose reactions they are anticipating: their youngsters.

Kodjoe and Hayden — who play Robert Sullivan and Travis Montgomery, separately, on the show — are each parents of two.

Kodjoe has daughter Sophie, 17, and son Nicolas, 16, with spouse Nicole Ari Parker; Hayden has daughter Amelia, 14, and son Hasey, 9, with ex Nicole Moore.

“I’m going to be destroyed by my children for this,” jokes Hayden, as Kodjoe jests, “Definitely. If we want to live, we have to deny it.”

Hayden then adds: “Not that I’m not pleased. I’m. Certainly.” “I’m really pleased,” says Kodjoe, whose daughter famously ridicules his PDA minutes with her mother on social media.

“I’m honored and pleased. Yet, my children are embarrassed and humiliated, so I can’t tell them.”

Be that as it may, he is pleased to tell Parker. “My significant other is really strong of me being attractive,” he says.

“She resembles the attractive goddess. She recently said, ‘Don’t forget the baby oil.’ That’s all she gave me on my way out the entryway.”

Despite how their teenagers could react, both Kodjoe and Hayden admit they’re eager to be a part of the show — one that features so many strong, strong female fireman characters.

“It’s about representation,” says Kodjoe. “It’s about not simply female strengthening — that’s exactly where it starts — yet it’s about representing strong characters and they happen to be female, which is great because that’s the way our scholars have painted these characters. They’re regular individuals and they come multifaceted in a different manner.”

“It’s what our children, our daughters need to see,” says Hayden. “They need to see these strong, influential ladies being able to finish the work and do it in an amazing way.

And when our daughters come and visit the set and see the female essayist, the female camera operator, the female chief, the female maker, and then the female star, that’s sending the message we want our children to have.” “It’s setting new standards,” agrees Kodjoe. Station 19 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
