We’ve all seen them, and we’ve all agreed with them at some point. But as Boruto continues, the meme has become a bit more difficult to make. So today we’re going back to our roots and ranking some anime characters that can likely beat Sakura in a fight.
10. Cheap Trick
Anime: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable This is my only “cheese pick” for this list, but I just had to use it. Throughout the entire series, Sakura keeps claiming how she’ll become strong enough to lead the charge. To be more specific, she claims that Naruto and Sasuke are going to look at her back and not the other way around. Well, that might just be a death sentence if Cheap Trick is involved. Its entire schtick is that it sticks to your back and then one-shots you if someone looks at it. And since it technically becomes your Stand, trying to kill it will kill you as well. One could make the case that Sakura could just unleash her 100 healings and survive the whole ordeal – but that’s boring. I like my version of events way more.
9. Mori Jin
Anime: The God of High School The thing with Sakura is that her combat technique is still somewhat weak. Sure, she can punch entire mountains away, but her form still seems rudimentary for the most part. So when faced with someone who’s actually well-versed in hand-to-hand combat, I think she’d get destroyed. And just to be clear, I’m talking about god-mode Jin – even Sakura can take on some kung fu kid. The utility Jin’s staff brings to the table would be too much for Sakura, as he can switch up his attacking patterns on the fly. And in terms of destructive power – we’ve seen him easily go to mountain level. I’ll admit that this battle isn’t 100 % certain (as Sakura does occasionally display really solid mele fighting skills), but Jin should have the advantage. And if we’re talking about light novel Jin, Sakura just gets smoked.
8. Satoru Gojo
Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen Sakura’s fighting technique is pretty straightforward. She uses her chakra to buff up her attacks and to give herself some defenses. She can also use high-level healing – but that’s about it. And because of this, Gojo just straight-up counters her. With his Infinity, Gojo can simply make it so that none of Sakura’s attacks ever graze him. Plus you could make the case that he could get through her defenses. I say that because Gojo can use his curse energy (in a similar way Sakura uses her chakra) in order to circumvent a lot of Sakura’s defenses and deal substantial damage. And on top of all that, Gojo also has his domain expansion – which could pretty much fry Sakura’s brain. You could make a case that this wouldn’t work (as Sakura has been stated to be immune to all genjutsu), but I think Gojo wins either way. Overall, if domain expansion works, Gojo wins low difficulty. If it doesn’t, I still think he wins but he’d have to put some elbow grease into it.
7. Tohru
Anime: Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid This one is rather debatable. But I’d say that Tohru easily scales to the Nine Tails in terms of raw destructive power. Even in her human form (almost completely suppressed), we’ve seen Tohru unleash blasts powerful enough to change the weather. Plus, whenever she spars with other dragons, she references city-level blasts as just “playing around”. Even in terms of tenacity, Tohru actually has surprisingly good feats. She can take dozens of dragon attacks (which we can infer are at least city level) and shake off all of the damage. So if Tohru just used her dragon form to fly around and blast Sakura will all of her attacks, I think she’d win. Sure, the 100 healings would make it a lengthy process – but I still think that Tohru would come out on top in the end.
6. Eren Yeager
Anime: Attack on Titan Full disclosure – this one would take a lot of prep from Eren’s side. But if he was already in his Founding Titan form and had all of the Rumbling Titans at his side, I think he’d win. This is mostly due to the fact that Sakura has limited mobility. Yes, she could probably just jump high enough to engage Eren. But it’s not like she can just ignore the Colossal Titans either. And even if they don’t directly hit her – their steam could still cause substantial damage over the long run. Plus Eren could swat her out of the air like she was a common housefly. Add on top of all of that the fact that Eren can use Hardening in order to buff up his attacks and defend himself from any lethal blows – and you get a recipe for victory. Again, the case could be made that Sakura would just ignore all of the Colossal Titans and just smash Eren’s face in before he has the time to react – but I think that’s not very likely.
5. Tatsumaki
Anime: One Punch Man While facing off with Saitama would make a lot more thematic sense (with both of them being physical fighters and all that), this matchup is way funnier. So it’s the one I’m going for. There are a few key things that make this a losing battle for Sakura. Number one, Tatsumaki can easily stay out of range by using her flight. Number two, Tatsumaki just has way more destructive power. Because you mustn’t forget that she dropped a meteor on a whim at one point. And being how that scales to Ninja War Madara, we know that Sakura would have some issues keeping up. Sure, Boruto age Sakura could probably destroy the first one – but nothing is stopping Tatsumaki from just making it rain the entire fight. Overall, Sakura would one-shot Tatsumaki if she ever got the chance. But I don’t think that she ever would, and therefore she has to take this L.
4. Hinata Sakaguchi
Anime: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime The thing with Hinata is that she completely negates all types of defenses. Sure, Sakura can protect her body with chakra and even regenerate missing limbs – but she can’t protect her soul. And that’s not just me being edgy. Hinata literally does emotional damage that was even able to circumvent Rimuru’s god-tier defenses. So as long as Hinata manages to get a few hits in, Sakura is pretty much dead. And I think that you could easily make a case for this happening. First off, tanky characters usually take more risks and aren’t as careful about potentially taking damage. So I doubt Sakura would be giving it her all to dodge each and every swipe that comes her way. Secondly, Sakura’s actual attack speed isn’t too high. She has good reflexes but when she’s face-to-face with someone, she’s very likely to get clipped. So seeing how Hinata scaled to Rimuru in terms of speed, I’m pretty confident that she’d keep up with Sakura with very little difficulty.
3. Yami Sukehiro
Anime: Black Clover Yami basically has the same win condition as Hinata but with a bit more substance. Just like Hinata, his Dimension Slash basically goes through any and all defenses. But unlike Hinata, he has a lot more options. First off, his Dimension Slash is a ranged attack, so he doesn’t have to risk his neck by getting close. Secondly, his Mana Zone plus Ki sense ability makes it so that he can see any attack coming. And we’ve seen him go toe to toe with extremely powerful mele fighters – so he’s no novice in this regard. Even his tenacity is rather good. Not in the sense that he can tank a full-power punch to the face – but that he can continue fighting even while severely injured. Overall, Sakura definitely could kill him if everything went her way. But I think that statistically, Yami’s odds are a lot better. We’ve even seen Yami take on Dante (who can heal just like Sakura), so even that part of her kit wouldn’t be new to him.
2. Shalltear Bloodfallen
Anime: Overlord There are two main reasons why I think Shalltear wins this one. First off, her kit is just way bigger. She has a whole slew of attacks and abilities that she can use while Sakura just punches. And some of these abilities are just busted. Like her ability to literally “no u” any damage that happens to come her way. Or her teleportation ability. Secondly, Shalltear technically has infinite durability. This is because she has built-in lifesteal and can endlessly heal herself as long as she’s dealing damage. And once again, Sakura isn’t exactly known for dodging every single attack. So even with her 100 healings, Sakura would actually get outscaled when it came to durability. And once you take her durability feats away, Sakura just gets rolled.
1. Ban
Anime: The Seven Deadly Sins This would probably be the most straightforward fight on this list. Post-hell Ban is basically Sakura’s exact equal – only using physical attacks and healing himself when necessary. However, his healing is a bit better in this situation. While Sakura spent years filling up her seal in order to unleash it all at once, Ban just steals away your power mid-fight. This means that Sakura activating 100 healings would actually benefit Ban as well – as it would give him an infinite source of power he could steal and then use for himself. Even though he isn’t immortal anymore – there’s no way that he’s getting one-shot by Sakura. My dude spent a thousand years in hell being burned alive. I’m pretty sure that he can take a punch.
